Hey!
Have you ever done the trust fall? If you have not, you should try it. You can discover that it is not as simple as you think. 😅
Allowing ourselves to fall back is not only about the physical part of “falling”. It’s much more about the knowledge or feeling of how much you can trust another person and commit to taking action by having faith in them. And that can have deep effects on our lives.
It would be awesome if everyone always lived an extraordinary life without any problems. And all the people you meet during your entire life are always friendly, honest, and care 100% for you. We know that this is close to impossible. Not even in fairy tales do we see that happening. 🦄
Throughout life, we might have taken some hits that shook our ground. And sometimes, we could be hit so hard that we are afraid of putting our feet down and being able to trust someone else again.
However, we know that we live in a society where we can’t control everything by ourselves. (Even if you are a hermit living on the top of a mountain - which you’re probably not if you’re reading this 😁).
So no matter how deep this fear of trust is in our lives, we need to face it to live a better life. And I’m not saying this is an easy task. There are a lot of tools that can help our internal process of learning and understanding ourselves. The good part is that there is no deadline for that to happen. It will always be an ongoing process of self-discovery.
And some people would even say that this is the magic of life, where you can evolve and change and develop a lot during the journey of your life.
And we can all get better at doing that. 🙌
And, of course, that ballroom dance can be a great tool to help you in this journey. First, because you will never dance alone. You are always working together with another person to achieve a specific common goal: dance and have fun!
You’re learning all the time how to collaborate with your partner on how to make that new step work or make a turn feel better. And slowly, step by step, you can start seeing that you don’t have to try to do it all by yourself. Your partner is there for you. To share that moment and to help you make things better and enjoy that moment.
Everyone is different, and we have different life stories, but we all have in common that life gets better (and a little easier) if we have someone to trust. I’m not saying that you will enter a studio, trust everyone immediately, and start sharing all your deep secrets.
I’m just saying that ballroom dance can help you find your own place of trust, and from there, you can start taking your own steps the way you want. Kind of like dancing, right? 😉
Big hugs.
