In the last 10 posts, we talked about some benefits that I would consider more “physical”- related to our own body.
Now it’s time to move on and talk about some other types of benefits.
I would like to start with a big one that we hear all the time: stress relief.
We know how crazy this past while has been for all of us. 2020/21 will be years that a lot of us will remember and maybe not because we loved it 🤔.
We understood the real meaning of quarantine, physical distancing, and no gathering of people while the experts are still studying and trying to determine how deeply we will be affected.
This only added to our “normal” daily stress.
How do you cope with that? What are your strategies?
We need activities to help our body and our brain stay healthy. And ballroom dance can be a great ally to help you face all of that.
I would risk saying that stress relief is one of the top 3 reasons why people dance.
When we go dancing, it helps us get away from our day-to-day life. You enter a completely different environment. Different room. Different shoes. Different partners. Different music. Our focus drastically changes. All of these small (and big) things affect us and bring us to be present.
This all contributes to breaking our routine. To break our train of thought and worries and problems (even if it is just for a little bit).
You are doing something pleasant at all levels for yourself, surrounded by other people who are happy to be doing the same thing! It just adds up!
Everyone needs a happy place. And a lot of people create it where they dance. Ready to create yours? 💃🕺
